pojang-macha / 포장마차
»all the animals come out at night…«
[travis bickle in »taxi driver« 1976]
i do not know, where they are hiding themselves throughout the day, but the pojang-macha / 포장마차, these tiny food-stands preparing a large variety of fast korean dishes in superminimalized galleys won’t come out before dusk.
and sure will have disappeared just before dawn…
living in temporary habitats, on sidewalks and parkings less- or unused during nocturnal hours, pojang-macha are almost self-sufficient, bringing water and energy, bringing food and furniture, heat, sound, light.
some of their constructive structures have developped from classic, non-flexible fixed-joint tubular steel skeletons to extractable flexible-joint convoluted gaiter structures.
and maybe promising sapid futures, towards autonomously moving organisms, providing us with food and drugs and who knows what else.
